In what must have been a bitter/sweet news for Hip Hop fans, Cotton Club Records Boss, Riky Rick today announced a surprise “Stay Shining“ EP. As if that news just wasn’t enough, The Boss Zonke also announced his massively-anticipated sophomore album will drop in May 2018.
However, amidst all of the buzz and excitement is the fact that Riky Rick whose real name is Rikhado Makhado also hinted the May 2018 project might be his last ever one. The “Family Values” star penned an emotional note of appreciation to the fans who have stayed true through thick and thin, but also dropped the bombshell of possible retirement.
“THE STAY SHINING EP” on iTunes NOW /////// This project is for all the fans who have supported me through all the ups and downs this year. All the people who have been by my side, cheering me on and inspiring me to keep going in times where I feel like burying my head in the sand. If it wasn’t for people like you I would’ve given up on this dream long time ago But you hold me up firm and for that I am forever grateful. My 2018 album will probably be my last one so before we get there I thought I should give you a collection of songs as a token of my appreciation. Thank you to everybody who contributed to this EP. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. #StayShiningEP”
The reaction generated across social channels has been massive and we do not know for real if Riky Rick does mean this assertion or if he is just trying to further fuel the thirst and hunger for his upcoming efforts. Whichever way, the serial hitmaker and fashion icon has paid his dues on the circuit and left his indelible footprints on the sands of time.
